South Coast Media Group editor featured in Business Week
Kaisa Holloway Cripps, editor of the community newspaper, The Advocate, a publication of the South Coast Media Group's Hathaway Publishing, was recently featured in Business Week's August 25, 2008 edition.
Ms. Holloway Cripps and her comments about being a Gen Xer in the corporate world were featured in the publication's 'Generation Gaps: What’s Eating Gen X.'
"We are a unique generation," says Ms. Holloway Cripps about her generation of 'Xers' that spans those born between the mid 1960s and late 1970s. "We are the first truly global generation. We grew up immersed in the new computer technology that broke down global barriers; we were the first to use computers for homework. We were also the first generation to truly believe, that as girls and boys we could be anything we want."
"Today, Gen X is truly transforming the corporate workplace. As a versatile and highly mobile generation, our leadership influence will have an impact on the global economy, for the better. We are redefining a corporate life that effectively blends work and personal life, and our work success proves it."
Ms. Holloway Cripps joined Hathaway Publishing as the Who's Who in the Business World reporter in 2003; she was appointed editor of The Advocate in 2007. She holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where she is currently a MBA candidate in the Charlton College of Business.
